Cicero delivers Mobile Video over IP for Nokia S60 devices

Cicero Networks, a leading provider of rich communications solutions for fixed mobile convergence, today announced the release of CiceroPhone V2oIP (Voice and Video) for Nokia Eseries and Nseries handsets. With this release, Cicero is delivering the world’s first real-time, two-way IP video application for Nokia phones, enabling high quality video telephony over Wi-Fi and 3G/4G networks.

CiceroV2oIP provides video streaming using either the front or back camera on phones and simultaneously displays both the outgoing and incoming video streams to both parties on a call. In addition, CiceroPhone V2oIP supports a range of half-duplex video applications, including “see-what-I-see” video sharing on any Series 60 Nokia device.

“Operators and service providers are seeking compelling services that make the most of both their fixed and mobile assets” said Ross Brennan, CEO Cicero Networks. “CiceroPhone V2oIP offers a truly enriched real-time communication experience that will encourage users to communicate in exciting new ways.”

With this release, CiceroPhone mobilises the PC-based rich communication service that people are familiar with today, enhancing basic voice calls with video and IM/Chat on their mobile phones. It allows users to manage on-line presence status and roam across multiple networks - Wi-Fi, 2G, 3G, LTE, WiMAX – without any disruption in voice, video or messaging sessions.

CiceroPhone is SIP and 3GPP standards compliant, allowing it to be used in conjunction with an operator’s existing IP infrastructure. Interoperability has already been proven with the IP and IMS communication platforms of the world’s leading network equipment providers. Using CiceroPhone operators can deliver on the vision of rich and mobile unified communications for residential and enterprise users today.

CiceroPhone V2oIP will be demonstrated at IMS 2.0 Rich Communication show in Amsterdam from 30th Sept. – 2nd Oct., 2008
